Vanessa Vanderpuye is an award-winning British actress and model, known for her dynamic screen presence and versatility. She recently won Best Actor at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) 2023 for her powerful performance as Ashionye in the critically acclaimed psychological thriller       

A Song from the Dark, now streaming on Prime Video. Her performance has also earned her multiple international nominations for Best Actress, solidifying her status as a rising force in global cinema.

Vanessa is also recognised for her role as Arjana Pike, a series regular from Season 2 of Sky’s hit dramedy Bulletproof. 

Originally earning a degree in Criminal Justice, Vanessa later chose to follow her passion for storytelling and began professional acting training. She made her television debut as Shakira, a series regular on Sky Atlantic’s comedy-drama Venus vs Mars, before starring in the multi-award-winning web series Dreaming Whilst Black. Her standout performance earned her two Best Actress nominations.

Alongside her acting career, Vanessa is a successful and sought-after model. With a drive to break boundaries and shift narratives, she has worked internationally fronting campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Coca-Cola, Pantene, Schwarzkopf, Garnier, Max Factor, L'Oréal,

IT Cosmetics, Colgate and Adidas, among others.
